HOTEL ROGER WILLIAMS ANNOUNCES OFFICIAL VENUE SPONSORSHIP OF THE MATICEVSKI SPRING 2009 READY-TO-WEAR COLLECTION
New York, NY (August 2008) – The destination hotel of bridal parties and savvy travelers alike, Hotel Roger Williams is now poised to solidify itself as the newest venue for runway shows and fashion events as well. Designed by world-renowned architect, Rafael Viñoly, the lobby at the Hotel Roger Williams will serve as the official venue Sponsorship of the Maticevski Spring 2009 Ready-to-Wear Collection. Australian designer Toni Maticevski, has chosen the posh hotel lobby as the locale for his upcoming runway presentation during Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week (September 5-12, 2008) taking place on Saturday, September 6, 2008. The blonde wood, soft lighting and natural stone décor of the entrance and lobby provides the perfect backdrop to show Maticevski’s haute couture collection of elegant gowns and timeless cocktail dresses. With floor-to-ceiling windows and a dramatic, sweeping staircase, Hotel Roger Williams pairs perfectly alongside Maticevski’s aesthetic that is equal parts elegant, playful and modern.
With a guest list of New York fashion editors and journalists, stylists, as well as socialites and A-list celebrities, an open invitation will also be extended to all current guests of Hotel Roger Williams as a testament to their extraordinary customer service and satisfaction. A cocktail reception for the designer along with his special guests will follow at 4pm on “The Veranda Four One One”. This 800-square-foot terrace, decorated by Interior Designer Annette Jaffe, will serve as the perfect post-event locale with its comfy furniture highlighted by striped pillows and cushions. Candelabras, sconces and candle lanterns strategically placed amongst walls of climbing ivy and an array of flora help lend to the “English” garden ambiance.
